2:Main body（本文）

Main bodyで本文の内容を伝えます。「大変申し訳ありませんが」「お忙しいところ恐れ入りますが」のような日本語を直訳しないで、簡潔にメッセージを伝えます。お決まりフレーズで丁寧さを表現することが可能です。

・We would like to ～　～したいと思います
We want to ～ の丁寧な言い方で、何か希望や要望お知らせするフレーズです。

例文=
We would like to order the following item.　下記を注文させていただきます。
We would like to sign the contract.　契約書に署名させていただきます。
We would like to confirm it and get back to you as soon as possible.
確認いたしましてなるべく早く返信いたします。
We would like to make a change to our order No.797.
発注番号797の注文内容を変更いたします。

・I am afraid ～　残念ながら～です
時には否定的な報告をしなくてはいけない時もあります。安易に I'm sorry を連発しないように、丁寧な否定の表現 I'm afraid ～ を使いましょう。「～を怖がる」という熟語の be afraid of ～ と混同しやすいので注意してください。

例文=
I am afraid we can't come.　残念ながら伺うことができません。
I am afraid I can't agree with you about it.　残念ながらそれは同意し兼ねます。
